Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Hilux suitable for first-time 4x4 drivers in Uganda?

Yes. The vehicle handles smoothly on tarmac and has an intuitive rotary dial for switching from 2WD to 4WD High on gravel roads. For steep inclines or deep mud, engaging 4WD Low provides maximum traction.

Does the cargo canopy keep luggage dry and dust-free?

Yes, our Hilux fleet features dust-sealed, lockable fiberglass or aluminum canopies. However, on long murram (dirt) roads, fine dust can enter through microscopic seams; we recommend packing sensitive electronics in sealed bags.

Can the Hilux Double Cab fit two rooftop tents for a family of four?

Yes. We configure extended roof rack mounts over the cabin and canopy to support two double rooftop tents, comfortably sleeping up to 4 adults.

Can I drive the Toyota Hilux across the border into Rwanda, Kenya, or Tanzania?

Yes. We issue official COMESA Yellow Card insurance and cross-border authorization letters. Cross-border paperwork costs a one-time fee of $40–$50 per border.

What happens if I get a flat tire in a remote national park?

Every Hilux is equipped with two full-size all-terrain spare tires, a high-lift jack, a wheel spanner, and jumper cables. All our vehicles are fitted with heavy-duty Bridgestone or BFGoodrich all-terrain tires.
